2017 Chicago Kenwood Post Manny Patterson Sets Pair Of Official Visits

Class of 2017 Chicago Kenwood standout Manny Patterson has now set a pair of September official visits.

Patterson will officially visit Wisconsin-Green Bay September 16-18 and Bowling Green September 23-25.

Patterson, who stands 6’8, is a mobile, defensive-minded post who battles hard inside.

Patterson competed on the travel team circuit with ALL IN/Young & Reckless.

Chicago-Based 3Ball Premier Wins USA Basketball 3x3 Title

3Ball Premier, a team comprised of four former Chicago high school basketball stars, won the USA Basketball 3x3 national tournament over the weekend, and will represent the USA at the 2016 FIBA 3x3 World Championship in China.

DeAndre Liggins (Kentucky/Chicago Washington), Stefhon Hannah (Missouri/Chicago Hyde Park), Myke Henry (DePaul/Chicago Orr) and Alfonzo McKinnie (Green Bay/Chicago Marshall) went undefeated en route to winning the national title.

Henry was selected as MVP of the event.

The FIBA 3x3 World Championship will take place October 11-15 in Guangzhou, China.

Jimmy Butler Scores National Ad Deal With Bonobos

Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler is the new face and centerpiece of a national advertising campaign by New York-based menswear brand Bonobos.

Butler is now 26 and is a two-time NBA All-Star. The Bonobos advertising deal is the first for Butler that has him starring as the lead nationally, and outside of Chicago.

Butler will be featured in the “Wear No Doubts” campaign for Bonobos which will showcase their line of pants, top coats, blazers and button-down shirts.

Bonobos allow shoppers to try on clothes in their brick-and-mortar stores, but requires that they be purchased online.

Drew Peterson Picks Up Scholarship Offer From Tulane

Class of 2018 Libertyville High School standout Drew Peterson has picked up a scholarship offer from Tulane head coach Mike Dunleavy.

Peterson is a versatile 6’6 wing who ranks among the top prospects in the Illinois 2018 recruiting class.

Peterson has also been offered by IUPUI and Kent State.

Peterson competes on the Under Armour circuit with the Illinois Wolves.

Jon Mills Jersey #4 To Be Retired By Chicago North Lawndale

Former Chicago North Lawndale College Prep standout Jonathan Mills, who was fatally shot last month, will have his jersey #4 retired by the school.

The ceremony will take place during halftime of the North Lawndale/North Chicago game.

Mills led North Lawndale to the 2008 2A state title and 2009 Chicago city title ahead of being a standout at the College of Eastern Utah and Southern Mississippi. At Southern Mississippi, was a 3rd Team All-Conference USA, as well as an All-Defensive Team pick in the league.
