Jamal Nixon Picks Up Scholarship Offer From Minnesota State

Class of 2017 Fenwick High School standout Jamal Nixon has now picked up a scholarship offer from Minnesota State.

Nixon, who stands 6’4, is a highly versatile wing talent who can assume a number of different roles on the basketball court.

Nixon took an official visit to Rockhurst University earlier this month.

Nixon competed on the Under Armour circuit with the Illinois Wolves.



DePaul Offers 2019 DePaul Prep Standout Perry Cowan

Class of 2019 Chicago DePaul Prep standout Perry Cowan has picked up a scholarship offer from head coach Dave Leitao and DePaul University.

Cowan, a 6’4 wing, was a standout as a freshman at DePaul Prep last year. Cowan has previously been offered by the University of Illinois as well as UIC.

Cowan competes on the Under Armour circuit with the Illinois Wolves.

ISU Senior Tony Wills Out Six To Eight Weeks With Sports Hernia

Illinois State senior guard Tony Wills will miss the next six to eight weeks after having sports hernia surgery on Tuesday.

Wills averaged 5.3 points per game last year as a junior while earning the reputation as the top perimeter defender on the team.

Wills is one of four returning starters for Illinois State from a team that went 18-14 in 2015-16.

Illinois State is set to open the regular season on November 11 at Murray State.



2017 Elgin Larkin Standout Christian Negron Tears ACL

Class of 2017 Elgin Larkin standout Christian Negron has suffered a torn ACL.

Negron, a 6’7 power forward, has ranked among the top prospects in the 2017 recruiting class in Illinois throughout his high school career.

Negron recently narrowed down his list of potential college destinations to Bradley, DePaul, Loyola, Oregon State and UAB.
