Fred Van Vleet Makes Toronto Raptors Opening Night Roster

Former Rockford Auburn star Fred Van Vleet (Wichita State) has made the opening night roster for the Toronto Raptors as their third point guard.

Kyle Lowery is Toronto’s starter with Cory Joseph serving as his primary backup. Van Vleet took advantage of an opportunity created when Delon Wright went down with a shoulder injury that will keep him out well into December.

Van Vleet earned a great deal of respect on the basketball court as a prep on the travel team circuit playing with PrymeTyme.

Van Vleet led a team that featured no player over 6’3 that ran through several sponsored programs at events around the country. His efforts included several epic battles at the old Fieldhouse of Merrillville with Yogi Ferrell and Indiana Elite.
