According to published reports, the NCAA intends to suspend Texas star Myck Kabongo for the entire year. The NCAA has been investigating Kabongo's ties to an agent and whether or not he told the full truth when about who paid for an individual workout last May.
Kabongo gave strong consideration to turning pro after his freshman season last year. The May workout in question was given by Jerry Powell, who has close ties with Rich Paul, who is the agent for LeBron James.
Most NCAA punishments for impermissible benefits include a suspension of up to 10 games and repayment of the benefits. Kabongo is reported to be given a stiffer penalty because he didn't give the NCAA all the information he had when asked.
Kabongo started 34 games as a freshman and was expected to be the feature player for the Longhorns this season.
