Isiah "Hoopy" Jones Is Enjoying A Strong Senior Season At Prep School Powerhouse Christian Life Academy In Humble, Texas Hoops 24 7.com March 2, 2010 Former Mounds Meridien (IL) star Isiah "Hoopy" Jones is enjoying a strong senior year at prep school powerhouse Christian Life Academy in Humble, Texas, and is continuing to get a great deal of attention from a number of college programs as one of the top available propects in prep school basketball. Jones, a 6'3" point guard, is happy with the way his team is playing. “The season is going really good. We have traveled around quite a bit. We went to Mississippi and played Queen City Prep, and then we went to Rhode Island, and played Notre Dame Prep. We won both, and we have played quite a few games. Right now we are #2 in the nation for prep schools,” said Jones. Jones is equally happy with his individual play, and improvements to his game. “I’ve been playing really good. Coming to prep school has been the best thing for me. It really has. Prep school has helped my games in all areas, but my defense is what I have improved the most. It’s crazy! I’ve improved my defense so much, I really have,” said Jones. Jones has a clear idea of what he is looking for in a college. “I’m just trying to go to a school that’s fits my style. I want to get minutes as a freshman, and hopefully we win. I want to play for a winning program,” said Jones, who mentions Louisiana Tech, Kansas State, DePaul and Indiana State among the schools that are actively tracking him. Jones, who has Kourtney Robertson (Texas A&M), Leslie Smith (SMU), Chris Coleman (Florida International) and Javarez Willis (Texas Tech) among his teammates at Christian Life, doesn't have a set timetable to make a decision, and will look to take visits once the season concludes. |
