Class of 2015 Michigan City Marquette Catholic (IN) prospect Ryan Fazekas is an intriguing sophomore in the state of Indiana. On Friday he visited UIC and picked up an offer after talking with Head Coach Howard Moore.
"We sat down in his office a few minutes before their first practice and talked a little. Then he threw it out there and I was surprised."
Fazekas enjoyed his trip.
"I got there and met all the coaches. They showed me around and I got to meet the players. Then we sat down to talk and that's when they offered. Then we watched their practice."
He enjoyed getting to know the UIC coaching staff.
"I thought they were a great group of guys. I liked that they are young and that they are willing to work with all their players to get them better."
He told us what else he likes about the program.
"I like that it is in Chicago and kind of close to home and the lay of the college."
This is his second offer along with a previous one from Valparaiso. Fazekas tells us he has upcoming trips to Missouri October 20th and Butler October 27th.

Wisconsin has been active recruiting 2014 prospects in Illinois. One of the Badgers targets is Sandburg High School power forward Malek Harris. On Saturday the junior visited Wisconsin and told us what he did on the trip.
"Well first I got to campus and Coach Gard right away took me to see Coach Bo Ryan. Then I watched the team practice and scrimmage for a little bit. After coach showed me around the whole campus. We then had lunch with the coaching staff and from there we went to the football game."
Harris was impressed with their facilities.
"I liked how everything is in the practice facility building. Even the academic facilities are basically tied to the practice court so players have 24 hour access to everything."
Harris was able to briefly talk with the Badgers head coach.
"Coach Ryan just told me that he's looking forward to getting me back up there officially and he's going to be talking to me very often. We didnt really have time to talk talk."
He told us what he likes about Wisconsin.
"I like the relationship the players have with the coaches. From watching them today I like the freedom Coach Ryan gives them to just make plays. Also the fan base. The people in Wisconsin love their sports teams!"

Rochester (MI) star James Young, who ranks among the top 10 prospects in the country for the 2013 class will announce his collegiate destination on ESPN's Recruiting Nation on Thursday.
Young, a 6'6 wing, has narrowed his choices to Kentucky, Syracuse, Michigan State and Kansas.
Kentucky is considered the favorite.
Young competed on the travel team circuit with The Family.

Class of 2013 Chicago Simeon star Jabari Parker has now narrowed down his list of schools to five.
Duke, Michigan State, Florida, Stanford and Brigham Young are the final schools left standing for the highly decorated senior.
Illinois was not among the ten finalists for Parker, and hometown DePaul was not able to survive the cut to five.
Parker, a 6'9 forward, is the reigning Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois and will be seeking to capture his fourth state title this season.
Parker will now finalize his official visit plans ahead of making a final decision on his collegiate destination.
